eCommerce Sites Your Marketing Team Loves
Hi, my name is Chris 👋🏻 I’ve built Classic City as a collective of trusted specialists who build online stores on Shopify and WooCommerce.
I believe in transparency. You should know: the people building your store, the average pricing before filling out a form, the entire process (not a simplified one), and examples of how we train your team to run the store for years.
Let’s knock out pricing. A real store starts at $35,000, and most land under $75,000. Not a $500 template, not enterprise either.
Custom eCommerce Sites
Everyone wants to know what a store costs. Let's get the ballpark estimates out of the way.
This is what you get:
Shopify or WooCommerce
We build on both, and we help you pick the one that fits your stack, your catalog, and your team. Then we build the store on it.
Custom building-blocks
You get branded building-blocks that snap together like Lego pieces, so your marketers ship landing pages and promos themselves. No developer needed.
Built-in training videos
Every store includes step-by-step video tutorials embedded in your admin so your team can update products, prices, and shipping without waiting for support.
5-year durability
Your store stays fast, secure, and easy to run for years without expensive rebuilds. We build on platforms that grow with your business instead of becoming outdated.
This is what it'll cost:
Your store, education, bi-weekly meetings, and weekly status reports included across all.
$35,000
Small catalog, standard checkout, flat-rate shipping (8 weeks)
$50,000
Bigger catalog, customized checkout, zone-based shipping, gift cards (12 weeks)
$75,000+
Hundreds of products, subscriptions and bundles, custom shipping, integrations (16 weeks)
Typically not.
Your first online store
Your first store doesn’t need to be custom. A template Shopify theme or a Squarespace/Wix commerce plan will serve you well without the steep investment. PS. We have friends that can help here.
You just need an app installed or a quick fix
If it’s one app install or a small tweak to a store you already have, you don’t need a full custom build.
You’re looking only for hosting and maintenance
These are both great things, and are assuredly needed. However, when we partner long-term with our clients, we’re looking to proactively grow their stores in conjunction with a marketing plan. If plugin updates and security is all you need, we can intro you to some dope companies who you’ll love.
Heck yes.
Exhausted of your current store
You’ve had your current store for a while. Your marketing manager is tired of pages looking different and scared to touch anything.
CMOs with a marketing plan
You have a full strategy across ads, organic, email, (and other things), and your store is holding your team back.
Replatforming or outgrowing a template
You’ve maxed out a template theme and need a real store built on Shopify or WooCommerce that your team can actually run.
Agencies with eCommerce projects
You run an agency and need a pinch hitter on store development. And, we play real nicely with agencies that don’t want to deal with web at all.
Recent rebranding
You are finishing up a rebranding process with an amazing agency, and now it’s time to take your message and aesthetic live on your store.
The overly-detailed process
Watch where I overview every deliverable
You’ll find this exact process outlined in every proposal we send for a new store build. Other agencies often package it up as “three simple steps,” but that’s where surprises sneak in. A store build is not simple. We give you a clear roadmap and ensure every step is transparent, so you feel in control from start to finish.
Discovery
Every successful website starts with clarity, not chaos. In Discovery, you’ll gain a crystal-clear roadmap of exactly what you’re getting, when you’re getting it, and how we’ll work together. This phase eliminates the confusion and misalignment that derails most store projects, ensuring everyone moves forward with complete confidence from day one.
Orientation
You’ll join us for a focused 30-minute call where we walk through our entire process, establish communication rhythms, and schedule your recurring check-ins.
Design inspiration
From example sites, we’ll identify specific elements (colors, layouts, typography) that will inform your unique design and ensure we’re building something you’ll be proud to launch.
Sitemap
A bird’s-eye view of the entire customer journey. You’ll receive a visual blueprint of your website’s structure, showing how all your pages connect and flow together.
Wireframes
You’ll review simple, low-fidelity layouts (think blueprint sketches) that map out where content, images, and calls-to-action will live on each page.
Design
With strategy locked in, Design is where your website comes to life visually. You’ll see your brand translated into a polished, modern aesthetic that not only looks stunning but strategically guides visitors toward conversion. This phase moves quickly because the foundation we built together in Discovery eliminates guesswork and ensures every design decision serves your business goals.
Homepage Design
You’ll approve the complete visual direction through your homepage design, establishing the colors, typography, imagery style, and overall feel of your site.
Block Library
You’ll receive a custom collection of reusable design components (hero sections, testimonial blocks, feature callouts) that makes future page creation quick and cohesive.
Page Layouts
You’ll see your wireframes transformed into fully designed pages, using elements from your newly created Block Library. These designs show exactly how your site will look.
Development & Content
While design captures attention, Development and Content drive results. In this phase, your approved designs become a fully functional website, and strategic messaging transforms visitors into customers. We work in parallel. Your team crafts compelling content while we build the technical foundation, ensuring your store launches on time with messaging that converts.d
Content Writing
You’ll develop the words that tell your story and compel action. You’ll use the wireframes and page layouts to know what content goes where.
Development
Your design gets converted to actual code for the first time. Shopify or WordPress is the foundation your store will be built on.
QA & Launch
The finish line is here. Launch is where your new store steps into the spotlight and starts working for your business. We handle the technical complexities of going live, then equip your team with everything they need to confidently manage and grow your site. By launch, your team not only gets a finished site but also knows how to keep it running and evolving with ease.
QA
You’ll collaborate with your team using Marker.io to review the site together, flagging any tweaks or issues in real-time. It’s as easy as getting your team together, clicking through the site, and clicking the red button when you see an issue.
Launch
We’ll schedule an evening (Mon-Thu) to take your store live. On WooCommerce builds we’ll highly recommend a WP Engine account to host it.
Support
You’ll have direct access to our team for one full week after launch to address any functionality concerns that surface. This safety net ensures you can confidently share your new site, knowing we’re standing by to resolve anything that needs attention.
Education
You’ll receive personalized video tutorials walking through every feature your team needs to run the store: updating products, prices, pages, and more. These recordings become your ongoing reference library, empowering your team to make updates independently whenever you need them.
The people
You should know the people building your store
One of the things I hear most when talking to clients about their previous experience working with agencies is that they got sold by one person and then the “B Team” was brought in to do all the work.
The “B Team” drives me nuts.
Since I began my career in web back in 2004, I’ve been a huge proponent of trying to get the smartest people I know together to build some awesome online stores. Classic City has taken many forms over the years, but the one element that has stood the test of time is that we put our entire team front-and-center.
There isn’t any “B Team” or the ability to hide behind a project manager. If you’re in the collective, you are talking to clients and an active part of the collaboration.
On eCommerce, that person is Andrew Booth. 20 years of development across every stack you can name. He started in .NET and now specializes in Shopify and WooCommerce, and he runs his own online store, so he feels store-owner problems the same way you do.
Aires Tech‘s Shopify build and Magic Spoon‘s best-selling bundle subscription both came through this crew. When we talk shipping rules, checkout, or subscriptions, you’re talking to the people doing the work.

We’ve built a lot of websites
Here is a sampling of the design work our crew has done from corporate to creative. If you wanted to take a look at some live sites:
Velociteach, Onspring, Magic Spoon, and Tonic

And, some case studies
See how teams moved from frustrated with their old website to confidently running impactful campaigns on their own.
Best-selling bundle subscription
Magic Spoon’s cereal and granola-based treats provide healthy nourishment inside fun, nostalgic packaging. They have successfully carved a niche with a site that skillfully conveys this, but both website technology and project management were slowing the journey.
Migrating a 4,000 page website
ATS's 4,000+ page website was too complex for their team to manage and too confusing for visitors to navigate. We restructured their content and built branded drag-and-drop blocks that simplified updates. Now ATS launches campaigns easily while maintaining SEO best practices.
Rebrand without a rebuild
Evangel University needed to launch their complete rebrand but faced rebuilding 400+ pages built in outdated WP Bakery. We created a block-by-block migration strategy that transformed their entire site in 12 months.
Not just logos
Companies we’ve worked with
A simple “list of logos” drives me nuts. What did you actually do? While I don’t have full-blown case studies for every client, I at least wanted to give you a snippet of what each logo entails.

The training
We make your team the experts, not bystanders.
Online stores are a bit of a black box. You don’t really know what you’re getting until the final product is delivered and you’re able to login to the backend for the first time.
I liken it to getting contract work done on your home: you can read all the reviews about a kitchen remodeling company… but until they are done, you don’t really know what’s going to happen.
Since the store-build process is historically riddled with surprises, let’s remove one of them. You can take a look at some sample videos that walk through the backend of some stores we’ve built. You’ll see how a team updates products, prices, shipping settings, and promo banners, not just pages.
I believe you should know what you’re getting into before you sign a contract.

The questions I get asked
Most stores land around $50,000. What moves you up or down is catalog size, how custom the checkout gets, how complex your shipping logic is, and whether you need integrations or a migration. A small catalog on standard checkout with flat-rate shipping sits near $35,000. Hundreds of products with subscriptions, custom shipping, and an ERP or POS integration pushes past $75,000.
It depends on your stack, your catalog, and your team. We build both, and we’ll tell you which one fits. Shopify tends to win when you want the fastest path to a reliable, low-maintenance store and you’re happy inside its ecosystem. WooCommerce tends to win when you already live in WordPress, need deep content sitting next to the store, or want to connect it to systems that expect an open platform.
Yes. We migrate products, customers, and past orders, and we map your old URLs so your search rankings come along for the ride. Migrations are one of the things that move a project up a tier, so we’ll scope it honestly up front.
In most cases, yes. On eCommerce you’ll meet Andrew, who leads the store work. I can’t guarantee everyone’s schedule lining up perfectly, but that is our goal.
Absolutely you can. Just head over here.
No. We tried that for a while and realized it was not our sweet spot. We have a lot of amazing partners we’d love to put you in touch with.
The store is fully yours. You’ll have admin access plus training to update products, prices, shipping settings, and pages. If you want us staying involved, our care plans ($250-$900/mo) cover the recurring technical work, or our growth-partnership retainer ($2K+/mo) ships new features alongside your marketing team.
Yep, that’s the whole point. Your team can update products, prices, and shipping settings without calling a developer. We record custom training videos loaded right into your store, so the day-to-day stuff never waits on us.
Yes, we can provide an initial draft of content for any pages we earmark. For myself, I know it’s a lot easier to edit content than to create words while staring at a blank page.
Let’s build a plan for your next store.
Pick a 30-minute slot. We’ll figure out whether a replatform, a WooCommerce or Shopify build, or a long-term partnership makes sense, and you’ll leave with a concrete next step either way.
