Content Day for Marketing Leaders

Video of you talking about what you want to talk about

The marketing leaders I talk to say they need to create content for themselves but never carve out the time. Well, we’re giving you reason to actually do it.

Kiera Wiatrak and I are co-hosting an invite-only Content Day. Register for a 30-minute slot, tell us what questions you want us to ask you (off-camera), and in a few weeks, you’ll have short-form reels you can use on your website and social media posts.

Our spot at the Functional Lofts Coworking space!

So, what is this?

Problem: A lot of the marketing leaders I know say they want to create content for themselves. They have ideas that they’d like to put out into the world, but they: (a) never carve out the time, (b) their office setup isn’t nice enough, (c) they don’t want to edit the recording into clips, amongst a myriad of other reasons.

Solution: We rented out the Functional Lofts near Krog Street Market for the day. We hired a local video crew to do everything right. You’ll register for a 30-minute slot, let us know some questions you want us to prompt you with off-camera, and you’ll riff on them. A few weeks later, we’ll have edited clips for you to use across social media or on your website.

In short: Sign up for a 30-minute, in-person, video shoot slot. Let us know up to 5 questions you want us to ask you while you’re on camera. A few weeks later, you’ll have clips at your disposal to use on your website and social media showcasing you as the expert.

One of the most common questions we get is: Are either of y’all on camera with us? No, none of our crew is on camera. This is all about you. During the shoot, the person asking the questions may ask you some off-script questions to have you think on your feet a little bit, because sometimes that improvisation actually is better than some of the stuff you know backwards-and-forwards.

“This is cool. Why are you doing this?”

Late last year, I (Chris) made it a priority to be more community-centric in the things I do. There are a lot of “roundtable” events out there — and those are fantastic. But, I wanted to do something different. Something that directly provided value to folks here in Atlanta.

Being in the world of “building websites,” it’s hard to provide value at scale using the specific talent that I have. So, I broadened the scope. What do my marketing friends want?

I remembered that back in the day, a common “gift” for event attendees was a “new headshot” taken by an on-site photographer. While that was a valuable draw back then, it isn’t anymore.

What could I do similar to headshots, but fast-forwarded to 2026?

Enter, Content Day. And, Kiera was game to join in on the festivities!

Let’s get you some video!

Who will be there?

Your hosts!

Chris LaFay, Founder of Classic City Consulting

Kiera Wiatrak, Founder of Dogeared Digital

The Shock Social crew will be videoing for us! From left to right: Ben, Tyler, and Sebastian

Questions from last time:

Are y’all on camera with me?

Nope! This is all about YOU. One of our team members will ask you the questions you prepared from off-camera, but that person’s voice won’t be used at all on the final cuts.

What does it cost?

Free! Zero. Nada. Nill. Come in and get some video shot on us.

When should I arrive?

Whenever your time slot is, please arrive 15 minutes early. We’ve done this before, and we actually ended up being ahead of schedule most of the day because of this.

When I arrive, what should I expect?

Kiera or I (Chris) will meet you at the door to the co-working space. We do want to be cognizant of recording, because the space we’re in is small. We’ll say hello, and move to another room inside the space. We’ll still probably want to be a little bit quiet, but we’ll chat!

What is the Q&A like?

When it’s your turn, we’ll get you mic’d up and comfortable with a couple of starter questions. We’ll then dive into the questions you have sent us one by one. At times, the person asking questions will think of something else to tack on and they’ll ask. It’s OK if you don’t know an answer — that’s the wonderful part of editing 🙂

What will the clips be like?

We cut your topics into 30-60 second clips, vertical, with small captions at the bottom. We will also send you the full video, unedited, for your use.

Grab your slot!

When you book, you will be prompted to submit three questions (at minimum) and up to five. Go ahead and jot down the questions that you would like us to ask you while you are in the hot seat recording your thought leadership video.
