Introducing, The Prototype

Your client gets a homepage design in two weeks

Instead of turning away website opportunities (or risking a build that stretches your team), partner with us to test it. It’s hard to know if a web partner will deliver the quality your clients expect.

That’s why you’ll work hand-in-hand with Claude* and Chris as we design you a homepage in 14 days for $4,000 $3,000.

Zero long-term commitment.

* In this case, Claude is a human (not an AI), and a pretty dope human

You shouldn’t have to gamble client trust just to find out a web partner can’t deliver.

Meet Chris & Claude

Claude and I have been building together since 2019. He designs a site, I poke holes in it, and we both make each other sharper.

My brain skews business strategy, while Claude leans artisan.

We were having dinner one night at Good Word Brewing, talking about how to connect with other agency partners more (yes, we are nerds).

I know what it’s like. A client asks for something a little out of your wheelhouse. But you’re smart – you can definitely figure it out. I know I’ve done it before in my agency. But it stretches your team, and sometimes, that’s not great.

Your clients trust you. They want your point of view. But without the right web partner, you’re forced into a risky decision: stretch your team, outsource blindly, or pass on work that could deepen the client relationship.

So we built Prototype with one goal: give agencies a low-risk way to expand their offering and preview exactly how we collaborate. No handoffs. No junior team. Just us, working directly with you to design a homepage your client will love.

Think of it as a test lap. Except you’re not test-driving a vendor. You’re test-driving a partnership.

What does the Discovery session entail?

Before we get rolling, we’ll ask you to send us any images you have at your disposal (logo files, brand guidelines, photos, artwork, etc.). We want to make sure we’re using as much of your client’s real stuff as possible.

Then, we dive into our 2-hour session and cover:

  1. Design inspiration: What sites do they like? What do they hate? What do they like about their current website?
  2. Messaging: Why does their company exist? What problems do they solve for their clients? Why do clients keep coming back?
  3. Actions: What are the main actions they want a potential customer to take? What is the primary one, and what are the secondary ones?
  4. Pages: What pages are critical for customers to navigate to in order to determine if they are a fit?
  5. Special content: Do they have any specific content you need on the new site (ie. testimonials, case studies, portfolio pieces, etc.)?

What are the deliverables?

Once our showcase meeting has concluded, we’ll send over a few things to you:

  1. Figma file: You’ll get access to view and duplicate our final Figma file. Implement it yourself, or continue working with us to finish out the job
  2. Discovery notes: The two hours you spend with us will not be a waste. We’ll organize our notes from this session into a Google Doc that you can take and use as a source of truth for any future website endeavours.

“OK, but they definitely want to build a full website…”

And this is exactly why we built this offering. I figure that you probably want to know what pricing is going to be for the full website build before you pull the trigger (even on this smaller commitment).

If you decide that you really like working with us, we’ll subtract the price of your Prototype from any of the prices below.

You have questions

What do I actually receive when we’re done?

We’ll send over the entire Figma file for you to duplicate into your account and edit to your heart’s content. We also have a structured document for our Discovery session where we will place an organized version of our notes. We’ll share that with you as well so you have an asset you can give to other people that contains all of your ideas for your new website.

What if we like it and want to do more?

The ballpark price points for our full website builds on this page. We will discount our normal prices by the price of the Prototype and continue moving forward with our entire website process.

Are there any feedback rounds with this?

When we show you your new homepage design, there is normally a few tweaks and changes that are requested. While we won’t redesign any elements outright, we’ll move some elements around, make some color tweaks, and in general, “tighten” things up based on your feedback. The goal with this project is to be a good steward of time and budget, and our goal was to find the lowest price point we could bring value to the table. When we added in multiple rounds of QA, it became a larger project, and at that point, it made sense to simply “just build a website.”

We have developers, we just want *more* of your design work!

We can absolutely do that! When this initial Prototype is done, we can discuss what other elements you need designed and come up with a package that gets you the building blocks you need to run with your marketing goals.
