How We Partner with Other Agencies

You run an agency and probably are doing a lot for your clients’ marketing needs. However, things always get stuck when it comes to their website. It’s not that your team isn’t capable – it’s just there is always something weird that pops up and it’s annoying.

WordPress

WordPress is where it all started for us. Whether it’s design, development, roadmap-planning, or working alongside marketing teams, we have you covered.

Shopify

Whether you are actively working on CRO or just need help ensuring your eCommerce site is growing, we have the crew to partner up with you to make that a reality.

White-label

White-labeling other agencies can be tricky. There has to be a “win” for the agency doing the work, a “win” for the agency closing the deal, and a “win” for the client. We’ve done a lot of this and we know how to make it work.

Custom dev

The great part of having a bench of consultants is our ability to solve unique challenges that most CMS-specific shops can’t. While we’re not out to compete with custom app developers, we do have the chops to integrate custom functionality into your existing website.

Custom WordPress and Branding

Evangel initially came to us when they needed to backfill a web developer position. Over the course of the next five years, we transitioned into a key segment of their marketing ecosystem.

  • WPBakery to Gutenberg: Without re-coding the whole site, we planned a one-year strategy to move EU away from WPBakery and into Gutenberg.
  • Rebranding: During the Gutenberg transition, we established a new Style Guide that utilized their updated branding.
  • ADA Compliance: We spent a year with the Office of Civil Rights to ensure their website was up to ADA compliance standards.

Technologies used: WordPress (full-stack), GitHub, WPEngine, Figma

“They combine structured workflows with exceptional communication, ensuring a great experience every time.”

Growing a Shopify site alongside partner

One of our agency partners was doing CRO for Magic Spoon. When test implementation was being delayed, Magic Spoon selected us to be their development partner.

  • Agency Collaboration: We work hand-in-hand with their CRO agency to make sure we’re in alignment on objectives
  • Prioritization System: At the beginning, we agreed on a priority system to determine how we want to escalate issues. This involved Slack, email, and text automations for any P0 event.
  • Deployment Rhythms: Our technical team works hand-in-hand with Magic Spoon’s marketing team to understand their internal release schedule and coordinates production deployments accordingly.

Technologies Used: Shopify (full-stack), GitHub

White Label Development Partner

One of our agency partners was getting out of the web development business but needed support for one of their large accounts.

  • Asana Access: The client has all internal marketing locked-n-loaded, and just needed a consistent developer on-hand. We are in their Asana system and work through tickets.
  • Deployment Process: Their WordPress website is hosted on a custom AWS setup with a multitude of checks-and-balances. Our developer worked with their Director of IT to ensure production deployments were completed smoothly.

eCommerce and WordPress Over Time

In 2021, we were tasked to build out a WordPress Multisite instance for the 4WP family of brands (consistent theme, but unique styles). With some changes at 4WP, they needed direct eCommerce functionality on the individual brand sites:

  • Multisite Build: The 4WP eCommerce website was not tailored to a “marketing experience.” They commissioned us to build out a WordPress ecosystem their marketing team could use.
  • Pseudo-eCommerce: As a part of the multisite build, we didn’t have access to their Product API. We collaborated with their IT team to refine their data structure of 30,000 vehicles, 20,000 parts, across two brands, and hundreds of data points. We were then able to give them the ability to take that export of clean data and import it into each brand site to ensure everything was up to date.
  • Actual eCommerce: A few years after the multisite build, 4WP came back and needed actual eCommerce within the Multisite ecosystem. With direct access to their API, we were able to build a dynamic WooCommerce experience within our originally built system. It contains a CRON job that connects with their ERP for the automated import of products and tracking data.

What Are Your Options?

White-label

Our team is your team

Everything stays hidden

Technical Lead

We assign a technical lead to join you on client calls.

Retainer or Project-based

We can offer a discounted hourly rate when we support your active clients.

This is good for small teams that are willing to have one of our team members join in on calls to define what is in and out of scope. This arrangement does not work well on an hourly basis.

Co-Pitch

Partner alongside you

Remain separate

Two Powerhouses

Allow clients to get the “best of both worlds” and contract directly with both agencies.

Partner in Sales

Our team will join you on sales calls to walk through our expertise.

This is good for larger agencies that are tackling more technical challenges. Typically their clients are more robust and would prefer to have multiple agencies partnering together in their own lanes.

Referral

Send clients directly over

We’ll take care of them

Pitch Them Back

When they are ready for what you offer, we’ll send them back.

Documentation Share

As we are working with them, if there is anything you need to know, we’ll collaborate alongside of your processes.

This is good for agencies that want to be a good partner to their current clients (or potential clients) but don’t want to take on the work. Our goal: make you look like a genius for the referral.

How We Work

Slack

Day-to-day communication will live here. We will have a core channel where the entirety of our mutual teams can collaborate. Each individual client will have both Internal and External channels.

Asana

All of our tasks will live in Asana. There are use cases (such as White-labeling) where this won’t be the case. However, the project management system is treated as the source of truth for progress, tasks, and alignment.

Meeting candence

If we are working together on a retainer, we will establish either weekly or bi-weekly meetings with the appropriate team members to ensure we are aligned on a sprint-by-sprint basis. We try to avoid email communication as much as possible.
